BSc, GDClinEpid, MHSc, MPainMed, PhD, ACTL

Hi, and thanks for taking the time to connect with me. I work with people to help them master the cognitive, emotional and behavioural aspects of their lives.

Since 2000, I've consulted, coached and mentored thousands of people and I've taught my methods on stages around the world, to help people remove the barriers to growth and enable them to think better, achieve more, and experience less struggle.

Dr Lucas studied biomedical science at the University of Wollongong with Professors Len Storlein and Lee Astheimer, and then graduated from Victoria University with a BSc in Clinical Sciences.

In 1999 he completed a Master of Health Science, collaborating on his thesis in psychophysics with Dr Heather Wheat at the University of Melbourne.

In 2004 he completed a Graduate Degree in Clinical Epidemiology, and followed this in 2006 with a Master of Pain Medicine with Professor Nikolai Bogduk at the University of Newcastle.

In 2006 he began his doctorate at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney in the Screening and Test Evaluation Program with Professors Les Irwig, Petra Macaskill and Nik Bogduk.  In 2012 he received his Ph.D in physical medicine and diagnostic reliability.

His work in critical thinking and the philosophy of medicine continues to be cited by scientists around the world after his collaboration with Dr David Evans at the University of Birmingham and Dr Roger Kerry from the University of Nottingham.

He has lectured both undergraduate and graduate students in neuroscience, pain medicine and research, and was an executive science editor for 16 years with Robert Moran from the University of Otago.

His book, Finally Free, on stress, anxiety and panic attacks, was an Amazon (USA) best seller in Mental Health.

As a clinician, he has worked with thousands of people, and since 2010 consults entirely online, through one-on-one mentoring, group coaching and online classes.
